Tessa Lewis, LMSW, is a fully licensed master’s social worker specializing in trauma treatment. She brings an enthusiastic, empowering, and hopeful approach to therapy to help clients reach their goals. Tessa has past experience in child welfare working alongside children, adolescents, and their families, as well as, experience working with college students, young professionals, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and adult populations. Tessa is skilled in addressing delicate topics and has extensive knowledge on various traumas. She strives to provide a safe non-judgmental atmosphere for clients to feel comfortable being themselves and be open about their experiences. Tessa uses evidence-based models and tools to help clients better understand themselves and explore the root causes of their distresses and patterns. Tessa graduated from Calvin College with her Bachelors in Social Work and Michigan State University with her Masters of Social Work. At Michigan State University, Tessa studied Clinical Social Work with a concentration in Evidence-Based Trauma Treatments and Family Social Work. Tessa is fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). With these approaches, Tessa empowers those experiencing trauma, PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, stress, adjustments, self-esteem, and more.
