Michele subscribes to the counseling profession’s emphasis on development, growth, wellness, and advocacy when working with clients. She helps clients realize their goals through an integrated psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and multicultural lens with the use of appropriate diagnosis, assessment, and evidence-based interventions. Michele is passionate about using a person-centered approach to create a therapeutic environment where compassion, empathy, and non-judgement are valued and practiced. She brings a lifetime of experience to her practice and believes in the power of relationship to heal. Michele believes the therapy hour is a powerful opportunity to be seen, heard, and validated.

Michele is particularly interested in helping clients navigate life transitions in all stages of life, process trauma and loss, and find meaning in their experiences. She recognizes the impact and influence of oppression and marginalization in populations where identity defines and shapes life experience and interpersonal relationships. An awareness of the intersectionality of identities, the importance of language, and a focus on social justice competencies are foundational aspects of Michele’s approach. She emphasizes a strengths-based approach to mental health concerns and seeks to empower clients to create and maintain positive change in their lives.

Michele earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, a CACREP-accredited program. She has completed over 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience and is fully licensed to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the State of Michigan. Michele offers counseling services to adults, groups, couples, and families. Her areas of specialty include grief, trauma, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. Michele utilizes an integrated psychodynamic approach to encourage self-awareness, internal growth and transformation, and self-compassion. Michele is IFS-certified and is a Certified Narrative Enneagram Practitioner (CNEP). Michele is a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Mental Health Counselors Association.
