Phil Miller is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). Phil received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University and his master’s degree in Counselor Education: Marriage & Family Therapy from Western Michigan University. Phil specializes in individual, marital, and family therapy and has completed level 1 and level 2 of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) training. Phil strongly believes in the importance of creating a counseling space that is both authentic and safe. This counseling environment allows clients to open up to be able to work through all that is going on in life, both currently and in the past. Phil enjoys working with a wide range of individuals from teens to older adulthood. Phil is also passionate about marriage counseling as a way to help couples work through past hurts and issues in order to reach the ultimate goal of a healthy and vibrant marriage. He additionally assists clients in the areas of: anxiety & depression, trauma, couple’s therapy, divorce/co-parenting, men’s issues, foster care/adoption, school issues, and parenting. Phil enjoys fully immersing into the community he works in by making connections with local schools and businesses. Phil, Lorie and their two children are from West Michigan and still live here.
