(616)222-0631 ext. 714

Shanna provides mental health counseling tailored to meet the specific and unique needs of her clients, which include adults and adolescents (12 and older). Her integrative approach combines traditional relational therapy with experiential and somatic techniques to promote mind, body, and spirit connectedness and empowered living. She explores the systems in which an individual/family functions and provides support for shifting patterns that may no longer serve her clients. Shanna strives to create an authentic, collaborative, and trusting relationship, providing support, care, psycho education, and a safe space for exploration, discovery, and growth for lasting change and healing.

Shanna has interest and expertise in treating clients with abuse and trauma history, anxiety, depression, aging, attachment issues, codependency, college mental health, compassion fatigue, divorce, gender fluidity, LGBTQIA+ issues, mood and or adjustment disorders, stress, grief and loss, pre-marital counseling, PTSD, relationship and interpersonal issues, women’s issues, parenting issues, health and medical illness issues, and is comfortable integrating issues of spirituality and faith into sessions upon request.

Shanna earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from the University of California at Davis and her Masters of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Colorado Christian University. She has pursued additional post graduate training in interpersonal neuroscience, certified trauma therapy, Brainspotting (level I & II), and Mindfulness Self-Compassion.
